Scholarship Program

History

The Chinese American Insurance Association (CAIA) Scholarship Program began fifteen years ago under the direction of Stephen Boon, who was the President of CAIA at that time. The CAIA scholarship program was created to honor the memory of Mr. James Ying.

Mr. Ying was one of the original charter officers of the CAIA Board. He dedicated his life to the insurance industry and the Chinese insurance community. His passing was harsh loss to the Chinese insurance community.

The Board of CAIA is pledging its commitment to this scholarship for highly qualified students who can demonstrate excellence in academic achievement, dedication to insurance related studies, and extracurricular activities.

Other Professional Enrichment Opportunities

In addition to these CAIA Scholarships, CAIA works closely with many major insurance associations, and holds other activities throughout the year. CAIA is a lead sponsor of an Insurance Industry Diversity Career Fair, working with cognate organizations and the insurance industry.
